The maker behind the watercolors

Thank you for considering Flo & Forj for your watercolor needs. Our paints are ideal for both the beginner and the professional watercolorist.

I love color and the exploration of color in all of its forms. I began exploring the art of watercolor making to really begin to understand the medium from its inception. It is my goal to bring as many beautiful watercolors to life as possible and share those with avid artists and collectors around the world in a unique and substantial way. Every pan of paint is made in small batches with the utmost attention to quality and performance.

It all begins with quality ingredients and a whole lot of passion. I never use fillers and will not ship paint that does not pass rigorous testing. My paints are highly pigmented and sourced from reputable distributors from around the world. These are professional grade watercolors intended for fine artists, for the watercolor collector, or for the amateurs out there that are just getting started.

My favorite brushes are wide and flat so you will notice that my pans are metal, square, and/or rectangular in order for me to really get in there and load the brush with color. I source pigments from the most reputable art suppliers and hand make my binder from scratch, staying as close to the raw ingredients as possible, with the exception of the Ox Gall. I do hope you will enjoy making art with them as much as I do in creating each and every pan for you!

I would be remiss to not take the opportunity to thank the relentless support of my family, especially from my husband, Charles. I have had many family members, dear friends, professors, and patrons cheering me on in so many ways but none as gracious with their enduring patience as my best friend, Charlie and our brood of girlies. I definitely could not have done this without the Young crew!!
